Ston and Mali Ston

One of our day trips took us to the nearby towns of Ston (pronounced Stone) and Mali (little) Ston. After a quick trip to the grocery store for some water, the Zeets boys embarked up the wall.

The views from the top showed the sort of beauty we've been seeing throughout the entire country. The simple stone buildings, with matching roofs, nestled into fertile valleys and along calm bays are the sort of sites that make you forget about the hustle of living back in the states. A simpler place, where our main worry continues to be what we are going to eat next.

The wall actually extends around a mountain all the way from Ston to Mali Ston but we didn't take it quite that far.

Meanwhile the girls and Tony explored the city. Dad joined them after climbing the shorter wall.

We ended the day by going to a restaurant in Mali Ston. It was a fantastic meal and we decided to go back a couple days later. Here are pictures from both trips:

It was a great day in a quaint town. We got some good hiking, shopping, and eating in and were still back in time for the World Cup semifinal match.
